Woodpecker/Ajax Mines, Arizona

Very difficult hard-core 4x4 route. Trail follows extremely rocky wash bottom, then cuts across higher ground past Woodpecker Mine and Ajax Mine, then goes down another wash bottom. Open to ATVs and UTVs, but it’s a real challenge.

Difficult. Large boulders and solid rock obstacles. Squeeze through narrow rock openings. Lockers and very high ground clearance required. Worst obstacles can be bypassed. Flash floods possible.
