Green Ridge Road, Colorado

Most of this route passes through dense trees with occasional breaks at meadows. Although the trail follows a high ridge, there are no views after the lakes. The trail is long and punishing. ATV and dirt bike riders can expect to finish covered with mud from head to toe. All gates are scheduled to be open from July 1 through November 20, but opening day is commonly delayed. Always call ahead to check status.

Difficult TrailRating
Difficult. No major obstacles but many deep mud holes and much embedded, bone-jarring rock. Not for stock SUVs. Don’t travel alone. Winch recommended. Some of the worst mud is at the beginning. If you want to fish at Lost Lake, walk from the parking lot.
