FunTreks Off Road Jeep trail guide Books

Lefthand Canyon, Colorado

An outstanding hard-core OHV area close to Boulder. We drove every Jeep trail and selected what we think is the best introductory route. Fireman Hill is challenging with great views. If someday N.F.S. can get gate removed at bottom of Castle Creek Road, it would create a great loop coming back up 287B. Limited parking at start for unlicensed vehicles. Dirt bike trails are very difficult. Open all year. For current conditions call Roosevelt National Forest, Boulder Ranger District at (303) 451-2500.

Difficult TrailRating
Difficult. Steep rocky ledges and climbs. Extreme obstacle on Fireman Hill below Point #5 has bypass. Steep climb at bottom of Big Mother Hill 286C is very difficult. Top of 286 and 287B are extremely narrow.
